Kadyrov does not want to be "boss for Caucasus" and reunite with Ingushetia

Jan 14 2010, 20:00

President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that "never in his life" will he take responsibility for the whole Caucasus, and he will refuse if offered.

The journalist of the newspaper "Nasha Versiya" (Our Version), which has publishes today an interview with Kadyrov, asked him about his attitude to the post of special representative for the Caucasus and whether he would like to take the post.

"Never in my life! Even if they try to appoint me, I'd refuse," Kadyrov answered and added that rumours circulate all the time that he wants to unite Chechnya and Ingushetia.

"If they offer me to get united with Ingushetia, I'll be the first to refuse. What do we need this problem for? Problem is not the word! Uniting with the Krasnodar Territory would be quite possible: they develop well," said Mr Kadyrov.
